Top Ten Tuesday: Books I'm Thankful For

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I have listed ten books I am most thankful for.  A few are because of the stories, some are due to the people behind writing them -- but overall, I am thankful for these novels coming into my life and showing me how to dream, how to escape, and how to love.

I wish all of my U.S. followers a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING this week, and am so very thankful for ALL of my readers here at GReads!

These authors have done more than just write brilliantly gorgeous stories, they've also opened up their world and allowed me to be apart of it.  For that, I will always be grateful.  From a personal tour guide of their city, to a long distance pen pal relationship.  From sharing our current playlists, to endless talks about their current writing projects.  Each one of these novels is where that all began.

Something Like Normal by Trish Doller [add to goodreads]
Freefall by Mindi Scott [add to goodreads]
Where Things Come Back by John Corey Whaley [add to goodreads]
Breakfast Served Anytime by Sarah Combs [add to goodreads]

These novels have solidified my love for contemporary YA.  It will always be my go-to when I am needing the perfect book to escape to.  The feelings and relateable to these stories keep pulling me back time and time again.  They are usually my most recommended as well.  You know you can count on Ginger for a good contemporary YA rec!

The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han [add to goodreads]
Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen [add to goodreads]
Such a Rush by Jennifer Echols [add to goodreads]
My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick [add to goodreads]

I've read a lot of YA over the years, but I'm also a fan of Adult contemporaries as well.  These two novels are probably high on my list of favorites.  I am so thankful for their achingly beautiful words.  These are the kinds of stories that cause me to stay up late into the night reading, only to feel completely gutted once I've finished.  And then I find myself starting them all over again.

God-Shaped Hole by Tiffanie DeBartolo [add to goodreads]
The One That Got Away by Bethany Chase [add to goodreads]

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly event hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

  1. I loved Along For the Ride and My Life Next Door. I feel like those two books are the quintessential YA Contemporary books. I have a copy of Breakfast Served Anytime but I haven't gotten around to reading it yet. Thankfully because of the holiday weekend , I might be able to. I'm not going to lie though,I think it was given to me because I love breakfast, lol

  5. Such a great list and post! I did the same thing, except just books for this year. It was so hard to whittle it down to only ten! The Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy is literally one of my favorite series! Jenny Han is one of my favorite authors ever! I still have to read some more Jennifer Echols books before I get a feel for it. I've only read one of her books, and unfortunately, I didn't really like it. Here is my TTT! Happy Thanksgiving!
