Waiting On: Kissing Ted Callahan (And Other Guys) by Amy Spalding

Kissing Ted Callahan (And Other Guys)
by Amy Spalding
To be published: April 14, 2015 by Poppy
Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist meets Easy A in this hilariously realistic story of sneaking out, making out, and playing in a band.

After catching their bandmates in a compromising position, sixteen-year-old Los Angelenos Riley and Reid become painfully aware of the romance missing from their own lives. And so a pact is formed: they'll both try to make something happen with their respective crushes and document the experiences in a shared notebook.

While Reid struggles with the moral dilemma of adopting a dog to win over someone's heart, Riley tries to make progress with Ted Callahan, who she's been obsessed with forever-His floppy hair! His undeniable intelligence! But suddenly cute guys are popping up everywhere. How did she never notice them before?! With their love lives going from 0 to 60 in the blink of an eye, Riley and Reid realize the results of their pact may be more than they bargained for. [goodreads]

Okay so, after reading that description is anyone else wondering if Riley and Reid find romance with each other?!  I know I am!  Amy Spalding has such a unique, unforgettable voice in the YA community and I am so psyched to read this novel from her in 2015.  It sounds every bit fun, but I know she'll apply that authentic sense of depth and emotion she's so well-crafted, too.

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

  1. This one sounds pretty good! I was intrigued by whether Riley and Reid would get together after reading the summary as well, haha. Great pick!

  2. What's that?....

Oh my heart just exploded in anticipation! I loved Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist and I absolutely loved Easy A. A combo? Yes please!

I have no doubt that this will end in Riley and Reid realizing that no one is better for the other than them. A bit cliche, but I'm definitely interested. Great pick! Off to Goodreads and iCal to add it. :)
