For this week's Top Ten Tuesday I decided to focus on a cover trend that highlights the title of the book, specifically the text. It's these types of covers that have always drawn my eye to them. I love the way a font, color, or size of the book title can convey so much about the story. Or it may do the opposite: make you wonder so much about the story.
How do you feel about this cover trend? It's not something new, but it's definitely something I am seeing more of in 2014. Be sure to check out The Broke and the Bookish for more details on this awesome weekly feature.

These do seem to be popular these days and I think they do draw the eye towards them. Great choice :)
ReplyDeleteOh, great pick! I do love a good cover that is just about the title and nothing else. It really pulls you and and allows you to make your own decision what the book will be about without being swayed by a picture that may or may not be a good representation of the actual story.
ReplyDeleteOh, I like this trend a lot too! And you have some excellent choices! I don't think I've ever seen the cover for Love Struck Summer but it's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAgreed....all of these covers are gorg! The colors, typography and overall design is just so perfect! Some of them are totally frame-worthy!
ReplyDeleteInteresting typography with a hint of graphics tied in are my favorite kind of covers too. A very eye catching way to convey the spirit of a novel.
ReplyDeleteYes! I love all the new graphics with those pretty colors. Great examples!
ReplyDeleteI really love these covers. The designs are all colorful and fun. I also love that nothing is distracting the reader from the book. Great choice!

Oh my gosh I love this! I'm so drawn to books that have fun title fonts and styles as the focus on the cover and I love all of these (especially How to Love and I'll Give You the Sun).
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post. I also love these covers. :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE THIS
ReplyDeleteThis is a really great cover trend to focus on, it's one I would have never thought about this trend. I would say that out of all of these, Lets Get Lost is probably my favorite.

I loooooooove these kinds of covers! Not all books have to have a real photo on the cover - artsy words can often be even more eye-catching than a great cover image. (Plus there's no chance it'll mess with your imagined vision of what's in the book - character, setting, etc!)
