What an AMAZING day Teen Book Con was. This past Saturday, here in Houston, a bunch of Young Adult authors came to hang with me & a few hundred more readers to share their stories & writing experiences. I love these events because they're for teens. The amount of young readers who came out (ON A SATURDAY!) to meet their favorite authors and celebrate reading was so awesome to see. As a future teacher, who plans to continue promoting reading in her classroom one day, this really warmed my heart.
I visited four different panels through out the day, and got a chance to listen to authors speak about their writing inspirations, what their favorite books are, and the most amazing bit of speech: advice to today's teenagers :) Below is a snap shot, in case you missed some of my tweets that day, that I wanted to share again. I've also included some photos I took with a few of my favorite authors after the event.
If you're ever in the Houston area in April, I HIGHLY recommend checking out this event. This was my third time to attend, and it just keeps getting better and better each year.
