This week's Top 10 Tuesday prompt is asking about those sequels we can't wait to get our hands on. I'm 50/50 when it comes to books in a series vs. standalone. Sometimes I feel like every book is part of a series and that gets to be a bit too much. But then there are times I want more from a standalone & wish the author continued the story. So you see, I'm torn.
The following books are either next in the series, or considered a companion novel. Regardless I am so ready to read them & find out what happens in the next installment. What about you? How do you feel about standalone vs. books in a series? Are any of these on your TBR list? Be sure to check out The Broke and the Bookish for more details on this awesome weekly feature.
Erased (Altered, #2) by Jennifer Rush [add to goodreads]
Brown-Eyed Girl (Travis Family, #4) by Lisa Kleypas [add to goodreads] - since there isn't a cover for this book yet, I decided to show Smooth Talking Stranger b/c it's the most recent in the series.
Since Last Summer (Rules of Summer, #2) by Joanna Philbin [add to goodreads]
Nantucket Red (Nantucket, #2) by Leila Howland [add to goodreads]
Isla and the Happily Ever After (Anna and the French Kiss, #3) by Stephanie Perkins [add to goodreads]
Racing Savannah (Hundred Oaks, #4) by Miranda Kenneally [add to goodreads]
Ignite Me (Shatter Me, #3) by Tahereh Mafi [add to goodreads]
Sinner (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #4) by Maggie Stiefvater [add to goodreads]
NANTUCKET RED! How the hell did I not know about that one?!?!? Just added it to my TBR.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to Isla as well and have been curious about the Rules of Summer series.
Oooh, I had forgotten about ISLA! That's a good one :)
ReplyDeleteIGNITE ME made my list, too.
♥Isalys / Book Soulmates
Sinner . . . . Cole . . .
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I hadn't seen the cover for Since Last Summer - really liked the first one. Isla made my list too :)
ReplyDeleteYes! I can't wait for Ignite Me.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea there was going to be a follow-up to Nantucket Blue! Great news! I also have Isla on my list (as does, I think, most every other blogger out there). Can't wait to read that one.
ReplyDeleteI really need to read the Travis series. Maybe I'll add to to my (frighteningly long) list of things to do in January. I wanted to put Isla on my list, but I haven't read Lola yet. I was kind of iffy about Anna, but I liked Josh and the brief glimpse of Isla we got in Anna so I'm oddly more excited for that one than I am to read Lola, which I've had forever.
ReplyDeleteI didn't even realize there was going to be a sequel to Nantucket Blue. Adding to my list immediately!
ReplyDeleteI didn't even know there was going to be a fourth book in the Mercy Falls series. Thanks for putting it on your list!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know there was another Travis Family novel coming out! That's so exciting! I'm definitely looking forward to Isla too.
ReplyDeleteI think I've mentioned this before, Ginger, but have you ever read any of Lisa Kleypas's historical romance novels? I haven't read them all, but some of them I have LOVED. Especially the Hathaway series and the Wallflower series (although I never read the first one).
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I am so excited for Isla, too. It's on my TTT. Love Stephanie Perkins!
Ignite Me...can't wait!! I'm an Adam fan and I have a feeling I'm going to be disappointed, but oh well! And I loved both Anna and the French Kiss and Lola so I'm definitely reading Isla and the Happily Ever After. Great list! ~Pam
ReplyDeleteIsla is on my list, too! :) I love the cover of Nantucket Red.
