My Top Ten Favorite Sequels (& then some...)

This week's Top 10 Tuesday prompt wants to know our favorite sequels, ever!  I went a little further than just 10, but that's because there are a lot of follow-ups that I really enjoyed.  Some of these are the second in a series, while others are companion novels to the first, or simply just a sequel to conclude the story.

Let me know if you've read any of these, and if they'd make your Top 10 list, too.

Be sure to check out The Broke and the Bookish for more details on this awesome weekly feature.

  1. Great picks! I've been wondering about a few of those. It's always a pleasant surprise when a second book in a series is as good as the first, and a near miracle if it's better! My favorite second book in a recent series is THE RUNAWAY KING, which is the sequel to THE FALSE PRINCE. Both books are absolutely fantastic (they are marketed as Middle Grade, but in my opinion, they are *solid* YA).

  2. Awesome List! I've seen Linger on a few lists and am sad to say I've not read the series yet.

  9. wow, you really went all out. Gotta love Ford from the Sweetest Thing & of course, I completely agree w/ Second Helpings, though my fave is Perfect Fifths. Where She Went & Catching Fire were on my list, too, but I should have added Lola. Great list :)

  10. Catching Fire was totally my favorite of the Hunger Games trilogy!! I'm SUPER excited about the movie, too! Lola and the Boy Next Door is definitely on my must read list. I loved Anna and the French Kiss! : ) I haven't read any of the others, but really really want to.

  11. Holy cow, I've only read one of these books: Lola and the Boy Next Door. I do love that. I haven't raed any of Lisa Kleypas's contemporaries, but I've read a lot of her historical romances. Have you read any of those? I particularly love the Hathaway series, but the Wallflower series is great too (although I never read the first). Oh and that one with the main character who's name was Sara. I'm terrible with titles :)

  13. Unravel Me is probably one of the best sequels that I read this year! I just read the Ruby Oliver series this year too (after reading Magan's review) and LOVED it. It was definitely book 2 that made me fall in love with Ruby -- she was just a smidge too neurotic and all over the place in book 1, but she won my heart over in the second book for sure.

  14. BED wins everything. It's the best in every category <3 I love Ford & Tara's book but Head Over Heels is my favorite Lucky Harbor. I need to start the Summer and Jessica Darling series! I'm obviously missing out.
