This past year my blog has evolved into a good mixture of both YA and Adult books, so naturally I wanted to feature a few adult summer books for Sweet Summertime Reads. I love a good YA contemporary set during the summertime, but there's something about an adult read that connects me to a different type of summer. Below are a few favorites I have read & plan to read, all are contemporary & most are heavy on the romance! Bring on the sizzling summer adult books + check out my ebook giveaway to get your hands on a copy this summer.

In this fun, scorching-hot eBook original romance by Ruthie Knox, a cross-country bike adventure takes a detour into unexplored passion. As readers will discover, Ride with Me is not about the bike!
When Lexie Marshall places an ad for a cycling companion, she hopes to find someone friendly and fun to cross the TransAmerica Trail with. Instead, she gets Tom Geiger—a lean, sexy loner whose bad attitude threatens to spoil the adventure she’s spent years planning.
Roped into the cycling equivalent of a blind date by his sister, Tom doesn’t want to ride with a chatty, go-by-the-map kind of woman, and he certainly doesn’t want to want her. Too bad the sight of Lexie with a bike between her thighs really turns his crank.
Even Tom’s stubborn determination to keep Lexie at a distance can’t stop a kiss from leading to endless nights of hotter-than-hot sex. But when the wild ride ends, where will they go next? [from goodreads]

When thirty-year-old English teacher Anna Emerson is offered a job tutoring T.J. Callahan at his family's summer rental in the Maldives, she accepts without hesitation; a working vacation on a tropical island trumps the library any day.
T.J. Callahan has no desire to leave town, not that anyone asked him. He's almost seventeen and if having cancer wasn't bad enough, now he has to spend his first summer in remission with his family - and a stack of overdue assignments - instead of his friends.
Anna and T.J. are en route to join T.J.'s family in the Maldives when the pilot of their seaplane suffers a fatal heart attack and crash-lands in the Indian Ocean. Adrift in shark-infested waters, their life jackets keep them afloat until they make it to the shore of an uninhabited island. Now Anna and T.J. just want to survive and they must work together to obtain water, food, fire, and shelter.
Their basic needs might be met but as the days turn to weeks, and then months, the castaways encounter plenty of other obstacles, including violent tropical storms, the many dangers lurking in the sea, and the possibility that T.J.'s cancer could return. As T.J. celebrates yet another birthday on the island, Anna begins to wonder if the biggest challenge of all might be living with a boy who is gradually becoming a man.[from goodreads]

Paradise isn’t quite what it seems as four college friends meet for an island vacation in this captivating new novel from the acclaimed author of These Girls.
Following a once-in-a-lifetime invitation, a group of old college friends leap at the chance to bring their husbands for a week’s vacation at a private villa in Jamaica to celebrate a former classmates' thirty-fifth birthday.
All four women are desperate for a break and this seems like a perfect opportunity. Tina is drowning under the demands of mothering four young children. Allie needs to escape from the shattering news about an illness that runs in her family. Savannah is carrying the secret of her husband’s infidelity. And, finally, there’s Pauline, who spares no expense to throw her husband an unforgettable birthday celebration, hoping it will gloss over the cracks that have already formed in their new marriage.
The week begins idyllically, filled with languorous days and late nights of drinking and laughter. But as a hurricane approaches the island, turmoil builds, forcing each woman to re-evaluate everything she’s known about the others—and herself. [from goodreads]

Slow Summer Kisses sounds great! I've read most of the others and know how fabulous they are too. :)
ReplyDeleteMy One and Only looks good.....though they all look good, that's the one I'd pick
ReplyDeleteOn the Island was so good. I need to check out some of these other ones. I have been reading a lot more adult fiction and romance lately. It helps balance out all the teen angst in YA. :)
ReplyDeleteThey all look good! I think I'd pick Slow Summer Kisses. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteThe Best of Us, thanks for giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI think I'd pick On the Island. :-) Thanks for the giveaway

ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout out! I just took the ebooks of Slow Summer Kisses and My One and Only out of the library, I loved Ride With Me and On the Island so I hope I love these, too. I've been on the fence about The Best of Us, I read Skipping a Beat by Sarah Pekkanen and I just didn't click with it at all, but maybe I'll have to give her another chance.
ReplyDeleteI have been meaning to read On the Island. They all look like great books! Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI would like to receive all of the ebooks please. J/K! I think I want to read On the Island first.
ReplyDeleteI would like to win Ride with Me.
ReplyDeleteOh Ginger, I love your recommendations! I think if I were to pick, I'd choose Slow Summer Kisses or My One and Only. I've read On The Island three times (!!!) and I just read the follow-up novella, Uncharted, and it was SO GOOD. Highly recommend. So worth it.
ReplyDeleteThey all sound great, but MY ONE AND ONLY would be my first pick.
ReplyDeleteOn the Island is probably one of my favorite books EVER! I just finished it last week and I'm STILL thinking about it. This is one of those books that makes me want to be a book pusher and tell everyone to read it!
ReplyDeleteI think I saw Sarah Dessen praising The Best of Us on Twitter, so I'm anxious to read it too!
