Me & Elizabeth Eulberg - love her! |
Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend the Houston Teen Book Con which was full of fabulous YA authors! I got to listen to several different panels with several different authors, telling their stories about writing. This was my second year to attend, and just like last year, the day was full of awesome!
Below are some books I had already owned, but took to be signed - and then a few I bought while I was there because I really enjoyed what the authors had to say about their books.
New books purchased at the Con:
Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys - signed
Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews - signed
Already owned books signed:
Not That Kind of Girl by Siobhan Vivian
The Lonely Hearts Club by Elizabeth Eulberg
Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater
Linger (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #2) by Maggie Stiefvater
Forever (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #3) by Maggie Stiefvater
The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater

Me and Earl is an interesting book, kind of polarizing. The interior design is absolutely gorgeous. I hope you like it!
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!

I loved reading your Twitter updates about TBC, but I'm selfish and kinda wish you could've been at RT with us <3 Pretty jealous about you getting to meet Siobhan Vivian! I LOVED that book!
ReplyDeleteYay for all the books you got signed. :) One of these days I'll go to a big thing like this. Nothing much happens in the boring state of PA. lol.
ReplyDeleteHooray for signed books! And how cool to hear the authors tell their stories about how their books came to be. THE BEST.
ReplyDeleteIt is always fun to meet the authors of books you love. Isn't Maggie Stiefvater funny? I have had a chance to meet her a couple of time and really enjoyed her. My mailboxes are here and here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI've seen Me and Earl and the Dying Girl all over the place lately! That's pretty awesome that you get to go somewhere and get all your books signed! There are very few events or signings where I am and it makes me sad. :( Maybe one day I'll get to go to something cool!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had fun! Happy reading! :)
I got Scorpio Races last week! I still haven't read it though.... damn... LOL! Hopefully I'll get to it soon!!

ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous that you got to go! I was planning on going, but then my plans changed. The drive is so long anyway. :p Anyways, I really loved Between Shades of Gray. It was so sad, but wonderfully written, so I hope you like it!

I just went to a Ruta Sepetys signing last week. She is so sweet and so fascinating to listen to speak. Enjoy all your new books!
ReplyDeleteAhh I really must get around to reading an Elizabeth Eulberg book as I've heard such amazing things about them! So jealous that you went to Teen Book Con - I wish they had things like that in the UK :( Me and Earl and the Dying Girl is great, I hope you enjoy it (if you haven't already read it)! ;D Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteTBC sounded like such a wonderful event, I'm glad that you got to attend and had such a wonderful time! Fantastic stack of signed books, and I hope you enjoy the new ones as well. I didn't really click with Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, but so many others have. Enjoy, Ginger!
ReplyDeleteAw yay, I loved seeing your tweets about this event! The Wolves of Mercy trilogy looks so beautiful, I bet even moreso since they're signed. I'm curious to see what you'll think about Me and Earl and the Dying Girl. Enjoy your books, Ginger.:)
ReplyDeleteI HAD SO MUCH FUN! I always love getting to hang out with you and the rest of the girls. We always have fun. :) See you Thursday!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous you got to meet Maggie! I hope she'll be back in Washington sometime soon so I can finally meet her.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Teen Book Con was fun :]
sounds like an awesome event and yeah you got to meet maggie. Great mailbox :)
ReplyDeleteI'm most noticing how nice you keep the books you already own. haha. Looks like you had a FANTASTIC weekend! :) So glad to hear it! Hopefully a great week is coming up too. (And a quick one...)
ReplyDeleteI really wanted to buy Between Shades of Gray, but I didn't want to go too overboard with the book buying. Now I'm regretting it! When I heard about the research that went into it, I knew it was a book that I HAVE to read. I will definitely buy and read it soon.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had fun :-) Wish we could have hung out more, but it was insane! I loved the panels and it made me even more excited for TLA next week!
Hope you enjoy all your lovelies <333

Oh, I wanted to go to the Teen Book Con SOOO much, but, unfortunately, I just couldn't make the long (10 hour) drive. It looked like so much fun. Enjoy all of your signed books. I loved Between Shades of Gray and, especially, Me, and Earl, and the Dying Girl.
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous that you got to go to such a fabulous convention!
