Speechless by Hannah Harrington
to be published: September 2012
The story of a girl named Chelsea Knot who takes a voluntary oath of silence after her gossip-mongering ways yield unexpected consequences… {goodreads.com}
I realize this is an insanely short & vague book description, but to be honest this author doesn't even need one for me to want to read anything she's written :) I ADORED Saving June in 2011 and can not wait to read more by Hannah Harrington. Yes, what little we do know about this next novel intrigues me, but seriously.. her writing completely blew me away in her debut that I'll read anything by her. That's a given.
"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
I'm probably one of those few who haven't been blown away by Saving June, to be frank :( But I'll make sure to check this one out!

It'll be interesting o read a whole book with a MC who doesn't speak! I just keep picturing Lindsay Lohan in Mean Girls taking a vow of silence :)
ReplyDeleteThis seems like it'll be a great read, even if I am only going by the tiny synopsis! I like the vow of silence concept, it sounds really interesting!

I hadn't heard of this one before but the synopsis sounds intriguing and I heard great things about Saving June. Will have to add this one to my to-read list. ;)

is this the official cover? because i seriously love it. and this sounds like a super amazing book.
ReplyDeleteWow, this sounds like a very interesting book and possibly one that (I would consider) would be difficult to write with the main character not having any dialogue! I’m kind of fascinated now! I will have to check this out!

This sounds kind of awesome... I would probably read it despite my aversion to contemp ;) Thanks for sharing!

Yes! Saving June was amazing, and I can't wait to read Harrington's sophomore release too! I hope Chelsea in Speechless is as kick ass as Harper was:) Great pick!
ReplyDeleteAnything written by Hannah Harrington is an automatic read in my book. And I LOVE the simplicity of the cover!
ReplyDeleteI didn't read Saving June... #criesinsoup

That small description ALONE is enough to make me want to read this. Sounds absolutely fantastic!
ReplyDeleteOh, I LOVED Saving June, too. I don't normally read contemporary YA, but I adored this one. Can't wait to read Speechless now that I know the author has mad talent. :)
ReplyDeleteVery excited for this one since Saving June was amazing! :)
ReplyDeleteEven with such a short summary, I think I'm on board to read this.
ReplyDeleteIt might be seem weird, but I actually don't speak all that much so Reading about someone in a vote of silence might be fun.
I haven't read any books by this author, but this really sounds interesting, even though it's such a short little hint of a synopsis! Thanks for putting this on my radar - it's now on my TBR list!
