Stay
by Deb Caletti (April 5, 2011)
Clara’s relationship with Christian is intense from the start, and like nothing she’s ever experienced before. But what starts as devotion quickly becomes obsession, and it’s almost too late before Clara realizes how far gone Christian is—and what he’s willing to do to make her stay.
Now Clara has left the city—and Christian—behind. No one back home has any idea where she is, but she still struggles to shake off her fear. She knows Christian won’t let her go that easily, and that no matter how far she runs, it may not be far enough....
I have not read anything by Deb Caletti, but keep meaning to. (Especially since she'll be here in April for TeenBook Con!) This book in particular sounds pretty deep though. It reminds me of Sarah Dessen's Dreamland. Gahh that book really messed me up!! It's scary when fiction as tough as this one can be so dang real. Abuse is a scary subject. One that I think more teenage books should touch on. When a book sends a positive message about it, you don't realize who that story might touch. It could save lives. THAT is profound reading material.
What are you "waiting on" this Wednesday??
Oh wonderful pick! I haven't read a book by her either but this one is waiting for me to be read! I love the cover and the plot sounds absolutely intriguing!
ReplyDeleteI really want to read this, too. It's waiting for me on my Nook, but I've been trying to be patient so that I won't read it WAY before the release. I might give up soon, though :)
ReplyDeleteI just pick up a few of her other books to read since reading this blurb. Nice pick!
ReplyDeleteI've never read anything by this author either but this one caught my attention a few months ago. Can't wait for it and she's coming to Houston!!! =)
ReplyDeleteI'm excited for Teen Book Con! Wait can I say that as an adult? Meh! This book sounds interesting and I recently picked up a few of her books. Great cover.
ReplyDeleteJust saw this one on someone else's WoW and I love the description (and the cover). Great pick, G!
ReplyDeleteTEAM JEREMY!!
I have not read anything by Deb Caletti either but that must change! April seems so far away though (imagine a hard core whiny voice there).
ReplyDeleteI have not read any Deb Caletti either, but this book sounds good! Adding this to my wishlist!
ReplyDeleteAnd Dreamland (which I own) is the only Sarah Dessen book I have not read...I might do that this weekend.
Oh wow...Sounds awesome (and emotional!) Added this one for sure!
ReplyDeleteYou know I haven't read anything by her to date, but I love the sound of this. Love Team Jeremy BTW! :d
ReplyDeleteOh I hope you love her. Some of my favourite books are by her. If you liked this one you should try Nature of Jade, so sweet.
ReplyDeleteI think ive stopped reading 1 book in my life and that was a book by James Patterson, it just did not interest me at all. Otherwise i stick it through even if the book isnt good, i finsh it, same with film, lol.
