Ladybird, Ladybird
by Abra Ebner (June 1, 2011)
Samantha was born on a full moon to a mother already dead. Revived by doctors and given to her unloving father, Samantha was raised a cursed child, her only friend the ghost of her mother who speaks to her through keys. From the inside out, Sam burned with life, a fire so vivid it kept her peers at a distance, all except one. Leith, a quiet farmboy with a broken heart and demons of his own, enjoys the seclusion his classmates grant him, but the seclusion is all too familiar to Sam.
When their worlds collide... fires burn.
First of all, lets discuss that cover - how strikingly gorgeous is that?! Wow. If that doesn't make you want to pick up this book, then maybe the synopsis does. I haven't even read a single page in this book & already my heart goes out to Samantha, the main character. I love a story about 2 damaged souls, finding each other, & possibly putting the pieces back together. Can't wait for this book!!
What are you "waiting on" this Wednesday??
Oooh...this is the first time I've heard of this one. I'm adding it to my TBR list now though. It sounds awesome! Thanks for the heads up! :)
ReplyDeleteHaven't heard of this book till now. The Synopsis sounds sad but great and the cover is beautiful. :D Great choice. :D

ReplyDeleteThe synopsis sounds interesting! It interested me for the same reason that interested you-i like stories where broken souls reconcile things together! And when there's love in it, even better!:P

OH I HAVE TO HAVE THIS! The first thing I thought of when I started reading this synopsis was Iceland- a book which wasn't the best but somehow I can feel the same despair pouring out of them just by their choice of synopsis'. But dangit- another June release. Today's WOW has seemed to favor the May-June time frame.
ReplyDeleteGreat Pick
Cover is gorgeous, I Agree!
ReplyDeleteBook sounds interesting too :D
Thanks for sharing because I haven't seen or heard of this book until now!
ReplyDeleteOooh I haven't heard of this one, either! I think the synopsis had me at FARMBOY. The only YA novel I've read with any farm-relations was Dairy Queen (which I loooooved).
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo, fires burning! Yowza.
Confess. You just liked the part that said there was a "quiet farmboy" involved.
