Waiting on Wednesday

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Invincible Summer
by  Hannah Moskowitz (April 19, 2011)

Noah’s happier than I’ve seen him in months. So I’d be an awful brother to get in the way of that. It’s not like I have some relationship with Melinda. It was just a kiss. Am I going to ruin Noah’s happiness because of a kiss?

Across four sun-kissed, drama-drenched summers at his family’s beach house, Chase is falling in love, falling in lust, and trying to keep his life from falling apart. But some girls are addictive....

First of all: can my body PLEASE look like that in a bikini?!  I think I'd be having some pretty hot & lustful summers too, if it did lol!  About the book... it's told through the eyes of a teenage boy, which for me, is always interesting.  When a female YA writer can pull that off, it really speaks volumes!  This summer romance is steamy & full of intrigue.  Sign me up!!!!

  1. I really want to read this, too.

Maybe if I go on a liquid diet until summer I can look like the cover model....no, I'd probably still need Photoshop.

  2. LOL, I want my body to look like that too!! But I am really looking forward to this book. Two boys fighting, very interesting. I wonder if it is over the same girl? Probably..

  3. I doubt I'll read this because I find the cover exceptionally triggering, but it sounds fun and flirty! Great pick, G :)

  4. I'm adding this one to my list just because it's told from a male pov, and yes I want my body to look like that too. =D

  5. Okay, I'd read this because I love it when unrequited love stories are told from the boys pining after us girls. I like an imaginary peek inside their brains!

  6. Oooh hadn't heard of this one before but it sounds very cute. Will have to add it to my summer TBR pile!

  8. Hey--I'm the author of IS, and I love that it's spotlighted here! But--guys--PLEASE don't use my cover as a reason to put down your bodies. It makes me so incredibly sad that my book makes people feel that way! You are all so gorgeous, and trust me, the girl depicted on the cover is NO ONE you would want to be--trust me.

I have issues with bikini pictures too, and Melissa, you're absolutely right to avoid it if the cover's going to be rough for you (I'm there too, chica. It sucks).

Again, I love everyone's comments and I'm so glad it sounds interesting to you guys! (and p.s.--the model doesn't really look like that. I saw an un-photoshopped version.)

  9. While I love me some guy POV, the cover makes me second-guess it. Maybe it's insane jealousy of her body?
